For amateurs, you can settle for the Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II Underwater Metal Detector that costs $600 to $800 dollars. Unfortunately, most special types of metal detectors cost that much due to the materials that they are made from. Most parts of the metal detectors are made from waterproof and reinforced materials that prevent water from entering and eventually damaging the circuitry of the entire detector.

Industrial Metal Detectors for Underwater

It is a fact that the sea or water has a lot of precious metals in it. It is either that these are natural precious metal in their raw state or they can be precious metals that unintentionally sank in the shallow sea floor. Whatever it is, it is important that if your line of work involves scavenging upon these metals, you should have the right tool for it. For instance, you can try the Minelab Excalibur II 1000 Underwater Metal Detector or the Fisher 1280-X Aquanaut Metal Detector. You can only use it in shallow waters to find what you need. If in case you are going deep, you will need  sonar for it instead of the detector. Unfortunately, both costs over $1,000 too.
